Buy your computer from a reputable Vendor or Shop or you will live to regret it.
To illustrate I will tell you a quick story. We have just been to visit my parents. They got a 'special deal' on their computer. They wanted to install anti-virus software, but couldn't because their supplier had given them a pirate copy of MS Word and MS Office, and the antivirus software picked it up and wouldn't install till it was fixed. Not only is this against the law, but how would you like it if people didn't pay you for the work you do? Well, I, for one, would be a tad peeved.
In Afrikaans we have a saying "Goedkoop is duurkoop", which roughly translated means cheap stuff can cost you dear. You get what you pay for.
These fly-by-nights also put the computer together from bits and pieces of broken computers, so the technology is dated and oh so slow, with very little memory. The worst is that in the end it wasn't any cheaper than the shop. Bullshit baffles brains once again. They kept on telling my parents what a bargain they were getting and how much they were getting for free... you get my drift.
If you want to buy a computer, rather buy from a reputable shop that has been in business for a while so that you will have after sales service if something goes wrong. If they have been in business for more than 10 years already, they are less likely to go out of business.
With the fly-by-nights you will have no recourse if they go out of business. You will be stranded.
If you want to buy a computer, Buy well-known brands
Third world countries get all the trash that other countries want to get rid of. Inferior quality hardware may be slapped together and sold to get rid of overstocked items.
This does not mean you have to buy the most expensive top-of-the range electronic components. New technology is coming out so fast these days that no one can keep up. They are out-of-date even before you buy them.
Most of us do not need masses of computing power, unless you play complicated games, do graphic development and design, or huge number crunching. If you only use a word processor and e-mail, most anything will suffice.
