Echinacea

Echinacea is believed to stimulate the immune system. A 2006 Cochrane review of studies suggested that the herb is effective in treating cold and flu symptoms.

For Echinacea to work, take it as soon as you notice the first symptoms. Take it a number of times a day (follow pack instructions) until the symptoms disappear.

Echinacea is not as effective in preventing colds, so do not take it as part of your regular daily supplements.
