The absolute top reason we struggle and fail is poor mental attitude about what we BELIEVE we can achieve.

Mental State

Our mental status is the true starting point for success in anything.

To get our mental status right we need to do the following:

  • Decide exactly what we want (e.g. I will fit into a size “x” dress, pants; I walk into a room full of people with poise and confidence; I earn …..[how much] by …[when].)
  • Have a burning desire for what we set our mind on to achieve.
  • Write down our exact goals for what we intend to achieve.
  • Visualize and “feel” strongly what we desire.
  • Believe that we can achieve it.
  • Keep our focus on what needs to be done.
  • Take massive, consistent, persistent action right now to start achieving - no procrastination.
  • Review!.
    • Check what isn’t working, make adjustments.
    • Celebrate action, i.e. what has been done (not what we didn’t do). E.g. if you went out to sell something, you went out didn’t you, that is a major achievement, one of the most difficult things to do – celebrate that, then look at what needs adjusting.
    • Check what stops us or trips us up and find solutions. … This is my speciality. I’ve been there, done that, got the badge, the T-shirt and the cum laude degree, so I can recognise it a mile away and assist you to “nip it in the bud”.
      • We may need to chunk down a bit - we are probably trying to swallow the whole pizza, in stead of a mouthful.
      • We may be focusing on the negative, i.e. what we don’t want.
      • The words we are using may be a hindrance.
      • Our internal “chatterbox” dialog may be tripping us up.
      • ….and so on.

Fail or Succeed?

When we fail, it will usually boil down to one of the following:
  • Conflicting values.
  • Some belief, idea, or priory rule; cultural, family, religious, or other programmed imprint.
  • A decision we made as a child.
  • What we say to ourselves.

There is always a reason, don’t use them as excuses.

   

When we fail, chalk it up as another way how not to do it!!!!!

Excuses, excuses, excuses

For us to be successful at anything, all excuses need to be chucked out the window, for good... there is no such thing as “poor genetics”, no such thing as “not enough time”, no such thing as “it’s too hard”
... Stop kidding yourself. If other people are doing it, so can you, and there are others doing it, guaranteed.

What do you think would happen if we found excuses to do it rather than excuses for not doing it?

Find compelling reasons to do it, rather than reasons why not.

In stead of finding reasons why not, say: “Let’s; Why not?” Find motive, incentive, and en-courage yourself to do it. Have something at stake!

What Benefit?

Look at what benefit you are getting from not doing it. I know it sounds illogical because it seems as though there can’t possibly be any benefit.... and there always is. Search till you find it. It's ok. We all do it. We are human after all. This will be your window, door, or sometimes even gate, to opportunity and change. Address this, if you want things to be different, and you are well on your way.

Remember: ...If you do what you always do, you wil get what you always got!

If we no longer want to feel we are fail-ing, it is really important to get our minds (thoughts and internal chatter) right.
